YouTube Testing Clipping For Live Streams And Videos

YouTube is finally making its way to the live-streaming industry by introducing clipping to its platform. Clipping is a necessary feature on live-streaming platforms, to be able to make short clips of live streams or videos. The feature will only be available to a small group of content creators in the meantime for testing purposes.

The clips can be anywhere between 5 to 60 seconds and will have a URL associated with them. There will be a clip icon for creators and viewers to click on to create a clip although the feature is currently only available to desktop and Android devices. This is definitely a necessary move from YouTube as people can easily share live video content within a short clip that can circulate around social media rather than requiring viewers to skip through hours long of a live stream content.
