WhatsApp To Introduce Update That Lets You Choose Video Upload Quality For Data Saving
Here’s some good news for all the uncles and aunties who love sharing videos on WhatsApp so much, they don’t even care if it uses up all their mobile data. Well WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that lets users choose the quality of a video when they’re uploading, so the process would no longer consume so much data.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature will allow users to choose between Auto, Best Quality, or Data Saving when they are uploading a video. The first option will automatically determine the best compression algorithm for the video. The second option will upload it at the best resolution but naturally, this will consume a higher amount of data.
However, if you’re simply looking to share a video and don’t seem to mind compromising on the quality, then the third option definitely seems like a good feature to try out. Better yet, under Data Saving mode, the video will be compressed into the smallest possible size for a quicker upload speed, which is great for emergency situations.
Unfortunately, there’s no definite date on when WhatsApp is going to debut this update but when they do, the feature is really going to benefit tons of users, especially our parents.
