Twitter Introduces "Live Shopping" For Users To Shop Through A Shoppable Banner And Shop Tab
We are pretty used to online shopping on Shopee and Lazada, especially when the pandemic hit us late December 2019. These online shopping platforms changed the shopping experience forever when they introduced shopping livestreams. This time, social media platform Twitter also decided to follow in their footsteps, unveiling a new "Live Shopping" feature on its platform.
Users will be able to shop for items through a "Shoppable Banner" and "Shop Tab" on the Live event's page. To test out the new Live Shopping, Twitter will introduce its first shopping livestream on 28 November at 7pm ET (29 November, 8am Malaysian time) called "Cyber Deals Sunday" in collaboration with Walmart.
The first live stream will be hosted by Jason Derulo, described to be a "30-minute variety show" that will showcase "electronics, home goods, apparel, seasonal decor, surprise special guests, and more". Twitter users will be able to catch the live event from Walmart's Twitter page on iOS and desktop. According to Twitter, users can also toggle back and forth between the shopping tabs throughout the livestream, and continue to watch the live event within the in-app browser.
