Tourists Travelling To Langkawi Will No Longer Require To Do A Covid-19 Test

Good news! For those who will be travelling over to Langkawi after 12 October do not need to do a Covid-19 test before heading over to the island as previously mandated.

According to the Ministry of Health (KKM), they've taken into consideration the percentage of tourists who tested positive in Langkawi which showed low results. It was then decided that tourists will no longer be required to do a Covid-19 test before travelling to Langkawi.

“However, as a measure to strengthen self-public health measures, tourists are encouraged to self test for Covid-19 before embarking on a trip to Langkawi to reduce the risk of infection to other tourists,” KKM said.

On top of that, tourists travelling to Langkawi will need to be fully vaccinated. Individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19 and are undergoing isolation and monitoring, or have been identified as a close contact and are undergoing quarantine will not be allowed to travel.

“Families must be responsible in preventing the spread of Covid-19 infection. The government and the entire frontline health and safety personnel have done their best to treat and control the spread of Covid-19 infection in the country. Therefore, individuals who travel interstate are advised to undergo a self Covid-19 test before embarking on a journey to protect themselves and the entire Keluarga Malaysia from Covid-19 infection,” KKM said in a statement.
