Tokyo Olympics Organiser Pleads Athletes Not To Sleep With Each Other
Due to the rising number of Covid-19 infections, the Tokyo Olympics organiser is now pleading for athletes to refrain from sleeping with each other during their stay at the Olympics Village, which is quite contradicting considering they previously announced that they are giving out 150,000 condoms as souvenirs for athletes.
Apparently, sexual activity within Olympics Villages has been an infamously common occurrence. American swimmer Ryan Lochte even revealed that around 70 to 75% of athletes actually engage in sexual activity during their stay at the Olympics Village.
Knowing that there’s no way to prevent this from happening, Olympics organisers have been known to give out condoms as a way to encourage safe sex among athletes. But this year, the Tokyo Olympics organiser will only provide the condoms at the end of the event to encourage athletes to use their souvenirs upon returning to their respective countries.
Not only that, several other “Olympic traditions” have also been amended this time around, to cope with the spread of the virus. While athletes can still bring and consume alcohol within the village, they will only be allowed to drink alone in the confines of their own rooms.
While these are among the advice from the organising committee, there’s no telling if the athletes will actually abide these rules. After all, who can stop a bunch of world class athletes from doing what they want to do.
