TikTok Is Teaming Up With NowThis To Produce A Show About The Pandemic
Apart from letting users post and share short videos, Chinese social network TikTok is now co-producing a show titled VIRAL that centers around the Covid-19 pandemic.
The show, which is co-produced with US media group NowThis, is featured on TikTok’s platform and consists of a series of videos from interviews with experts and scientists to explain and answer questions about the pandemic.
VIRAL will be a weekly live event, lasting 45 minutes each. There’s even a schedule set for the show, at 6pm US Eastern Time every Thursday, which is 6am Friday for Malaysia.
The show is aired on the NowThis account on TikTok where the host, Laurel Bristow will have guest experts explain and share information related to the pandemic, such as debunking medical myths or discussing the effectiveness of the vaccines.
Tune in to our new TikTok live show VIRAL on Thursdays at 6pm ET with host @kinggutterbaby
The first episode of VIRAL aired on 15 April while four more episodes are scheduled to air every Thursday until 13 May. Each episode is followed by a live Q&A session with users and guests of the day.
According to TechCrunch, TikTok may replicate a similar kind of program on its platform in the future if this is successful.
