With the COVID-19 pandemic still very much a problem globally, travelling overseas is highly discouraged. For those of you who seem to have an insatiable wanderlust, especially for Japan, I am certain this situation you’re in must seem like torture.

Thankfully, you might get to whet your wanderlust appetite without actually having to board a plane! Introducing the Selangor-Japan Friendship Garden!

The friendship park is basically a Japanese architecture enthusiast’s wet dream as it features landscapes with a Zen Garden, Maze Pond, and Torii Gateway. That’s not all though, as the park also has a Tsubaki (a purification washbasin in Japanese culture) along with a terraced lawn and reflexology garden.

According to Shah Alam mayor Datuk Haris Kasim, the garden/park was built as a means to show appreciation to Japan who also happens to be Selangor’s longest investor.

Reading about this garden will really not do it any justice as you have to behold the beauty of it for yourself. The park is practically layered with lush greenery accompanied by natural wood and stone spread out across 2.428 hectares.
