This Company In Japan Adopts Abandoned Cats To Help Increase Productivity Of Employees
They say that interacting with animals decreases levels of cortisol, which is a stress-related hormone, and lower blood pressure. Besides that, other studies found that animals can also help reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood.
Well, this company in Tokyo, Japan called Ferray Corporation got the memo and adopted 9 abandoned cats to increase the productivity of the employees. While it may seem like a one-way relationship, these cats would also be showered with love, food, and shelter as most renters prohibit residents from having pets so many were abandoned or left behind.
After "hiring" the 9 new cats, employees were seen conversing more and reduced stress-levels at the office. The only cons of having the adopted kitties at the office are ripped up paper, gnawing on wires, and walking on computers. However, the internet solutions company is willing to put up with these minor annoyances.
According to Japan Today, Ferray Corporation also has a pet-friendly regulation that allows employees to bring their pets to work. The company will even pay employees a $42 monthly incentive to anyone who adopts a cat while working there! We love to see it!
