Tesco Malaysia To Rebrand All Outlets To Lotuss Stores
On 15 February, Tesco Malaysia announced that all outlets across Malaysia will be rebranded to Lotuss Stores or Lotus’s Malaysia. The rebranding exercise is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
Netizens have been getting subtle hints through flyers that were distributed when visiting the grocery store and when they scan the MySejahtera QR code at Tesco branches. Apparently, Tesco Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was sold to Thailand’s Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group entities. The acquisition was then approved by the Malaysia Trade Competition Commission (MTCC) back in November 2020.
There are still no news to what the official name of the rebranded grocery chain store will be, but the ones in Thailand are named Lotus’s according to images.
