Tengku Permaisuri Of Selangor Makes A Special Appearance As RTM TV1 News Anchor
Those who tuned in to TV1’s Berita Perdana Khas programme that aired at 8pm on Thursday (April 1) would’ve probably noticed that instead of the usual news anchor, the personality on air happened to be someone else with a familiar (or unfamiliar) face.
Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin of Selangor made a special appearance as a TV1 newscaster the other night and no, it wasn’t an April Fool’s day prank. Instead, Her Royal Highness was on air to celebrate Radio Televisyen Malaysia’s (RTM) 75th anniversary.
For those who don’t know, prior to her marriage to Sultan of Selangor Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin was a RTM news presenter and an award-winning one at it, having won the Best TV News Presenter award in 2001 and 2005’s Seri Angkasa Award (ASA) respectively!
Although Her Royal Highness was only on air for 15 minutes, her special appearance has stirred up quite the conversation among netizens and viewers, who were more than delighted and honoured to witness her return to the screen.
“A legendary news anchor in a class of her own. Her face is gentle and very elegant. She’s still so talented. Someone I admire and is an inspiration for me to chase my dreams and ambitions. I’ve been cured of longing after her appearance just now. Congratulations, [Tengku Permaisuri],” wrote Facebook user Danial Danish.
Based on the wonderful comments all around, it’s clear that Her Royal Highness has touched the hearts of many with her beauty, poise and talent.
