Temperature Scanning Before Entering Premises May Soon Be Removed From Current SOPs
During a media conference on 20 January, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin mentioned that scanning temperature before entering any premises may soon be a thing in the past. However, visitors will still be required to scan the MySejahtera QR code before entering.
Khairy did not mention when the temperature scanning will be removed from the current SOPs, as they are still waiting for approval and revision. “The proposal will be brought forward to the National Security Council (MKN) for approval and revision. We will provide an update as soon as we can,” he said.
Currently, temperature scanning is a mandatory SOP at every premise. However, due to Covid-19 being asymptomatic or with mild symptoms, people are starting to wonder whether scanning your temperature is relevant anymore.
