Starting Today, You Can Have More Than 2 People In A Car And At The Same Dining Table

Another MCO restriction has been lifted and this time it is the “two-person rule” for car travels and dining-in. The latest announcement came from senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob who said that this ease in SOPs will apply to all states nationwide starting today.

The number of passengers allowed in a car will depend on the number of seats available in the car. Similarly, the number of customers allowed to dine-in at the same table will depend on the size of the table.

It is also good news for engaged couples because wedding ceremonies can now be held at religious departments and mosques in MCO states as long as the event limits its number of guests to 20 people.

Wedding ceremonies held in CMCO states will need to ensure that the number of guests does not exceed 50% of the venue’s capacity and everyone must follow the 1m physical distancing rule. As for non-Muslim couples, do stay tuned for Putrajaya’s announcement on the details soon.

Ismail added that wedding ceremonies held in open spaces must follow the SOPs as outlined in the MKN website. As practiced at all places, all guests will have to register their personal details and have their temperatures taken before attending the outdoor ceremonies.

According to Ismail, these are just some of the SOPs that have been approved by the National Security Council (MKN) which will be effective today onwards until March 4.
