Singaporean Hawker Store Sells Durian Fish Soup For RM37 And It’s Been Selling Out Quickly

Durian season is here! And I’m sure I’m not the only one seeing Instagram stories of people having the King of Fruits! Although I do enjoy having durian on its own, this hawker in Singapore decided to pair the fruit with fish soup! Nani?

The hawker, Derrick runs Wang Yuan Fish Soup in a food court located at Tampines. A bowl of durian fish soup costs RM37 (12SGD), which is a bit pricey considering the dish to be quite odd. Although, if you think about it, durians are actually pretty expensive on its own. Derrick mentioned that he uses special ingredients for the dish which does not contain any MSG.

The durian fish soup dish actually started back in 2019 but is now brought back to the limelight. His intention was to create a 2-in-1 combo, whereby customers can savour the soup’s harmonious flavours while also being healthy. But why durian…

After being covered by many news portals, the unique dosh from Wang Yuan Fish Soup started selling out quickly. What do you think about this weird combination?

Would you try this dish out?
