Rumah Prihatin @ Grand Seasons KL Is M’sia’s First Charity Hotel To Offer Free Food, The

Now here is another amazing initiative that we can and should get behind. The Rumah Prihatin @ Grand Seasons KL has transformed itself into the country’s first charity hotel that aims to provide meals, lodging, counselling, and even walk-in vaccination services to individuals in need.

As the Grand Seasons hotel was no longer in operation since 2019, the Rumah Prihatin programme was able to convert the property into a one-stop welfare centre. Since it kickstarted on 15 July, the initiative has provided about 15,000 meals for underprivileged individuals as well as our dedicated frontliners.

The charity hotel also offers free counselling services like financial counselling, art therapy and spiritual therapy sessions conducted by professional psychiatrists, psychologists, and counsellors. Since it was launched, about 30 counselling sessions have been conducted, all of which are strictly confidential. And for those who can’t attend physically, virtual sessions are also provided.

On top of all the services offered, the building is also a walk-in vaccination centre (PPV) that has administered nearly 10,000 vaccine doses so far. And for individuals, especially frontliners who need a temporary place to stay, Rumah Prihatin provides cheap lodging services with rooms from RM30 per night.

The charity hotel was set up by the Federal Territories Ministry and the Federal Territories Foundation in collaboration with Grand Seasons Hotel, Pulse Grand Hotel, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, and Prihatin Volunteers (PriVo).
