PPV Staff Tells Man He Can’t Take A Video Of His Vaccination Because “KJ Has Resigned”
National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin previously announced that vaccine recipients are now allowed to record a video of them getting vaccinated for safety measures. But a man in Johor who tried to do that recently was stopped by a vaccination centre (PPV) staff member, the reason given was because Khairy “has resigned”, so apparently the rule no longer applies.
The man, Raff then took to Twitter to upload a video of the incident. While the nurse administering Raff’s vaccine was fine with his recording, a PPV staff member had rudely interrupted him and covered his phone camera just as the nurse was injecting him. In the video, the nurse can be heard saying “Cannot record, KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin) has resigned. KKM’s (Ministry of Health) procedure doesn’t allow recording.”
“Can you imagine if the needle broke while she was interrupting me getting my jab? Then the nurse calmed me down. I was disoriented because everyone was looking at me in the hall, her voice was rather loud. After it was done, I just went to the next station," Raff told SAYS.
Raff added he had only wanted to record the video to show his family. Sadly, the whole exchange happened so quickly he didn’t even get to register the staff’s name or face, and he wasn’t entirely sure if she was an official or not. The video has since gone viral on Twitter, but the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) has yet to comment on the issue.
