PDRM Will Not Accept MITI Letter For Interstate Travel From 18 To 21 July

If you’re thinking of using your MITI letter to “balik kampung” for the holidays, please refrain from doing so, as PDRM won’t be allowing any interstate travelling for 4 days, from 18 to 21 July! Let me remind you that, the previous Aidilfitri celebration back in May, triggered 36 Covid-19 clusters which led us to today’s situation with 5 digit cases on a daily basis.

“I think everyone would have started their holidays today (in conjunction with Aidiladha)… during the last Hari Raya Aidilfitri, hundreds of thousands travelled interstate with various reasons, including using the interstate travel letter meant for work. There probably are also those who use their ‘expertise’ to evade the police by travelling through plantation roads and so on, but you can’t deceive Covid-19,” Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob said.

Due to the recent increase in vehicles on the road the past few days, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the police won’t accept documents from MITI. So if you’re thinking of smart ways to fool the police, I’d suggest you stay put at home and keep everyone safe.
