One Construction Worker Dead, Another Injured In DASH Highway Scaffolding Collapse

An incident involving the collapse of a metal scaffolding at the Damansara-Shah Alam Highway (DASH) construction site last Saturday evening has left one construction worker dead and another injured.

The incident, which happened at around 7pm on Saturday (19 June), was believed to have occurred because the scaffolding had been overloaded. It was initially reported that two Bangladeshi workers who were working under the 12 metre-tall construction site had suffered light injuries in the incident.

But in latest news, it was reported that one of the two injured workers had died of severe internal and head wounds. The 53-year-old Bangladeshi victim was said to have passed away at around 7am yesterday at Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Meanwhile, the other 25-year-old victim is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital, said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid.
