New Dating App Matches You With Other Users According To Your Sense Of Humour
During the pandemic, it’s been pretty tough to get yourself out there to meet people and date. Well, rather than using dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, or Coffee Meets Bagel, why not try out a new kind of dating app that matches you with people of the same sense of humour? The app, Schmooze first started blowing up in college campuses across the United States.

The entrepreneur, Vidya Madhavan, originally from India started working on the dating app based on humour and memes. According to the creator, the app runs through a “humour algorithm” that connects people who share a similar taste of humour. Schmooze will also suggest profiles base off users’ biographies, taste for cooking, entrepreneurship, or music.

The app was initially developed to help people build friendships around humour and memes, but Madhavan eventually targeted Gen Z, saying that “people were really looking for a love match”. TechCrunch also noted that “there are similar divides when it comes to dark humour, and people who really love puns — and those who hate them.”
After beta testing on Stanford’s campus with 200 students, Schmooze stated gaining attention with 10,000 downloads across United States.
