Netflix Is Set On Bringing Us a Live-Action Gundam Movie

Fans of the world’s most popular mecha-anime series: Gundam, will be ‘treated’ to a live-action version of it. Though, I am uncertain if any true Gundam fans asked for it. That aside, the feature film produced by Legendary Pictures was first announced way back in 2018 but has not gained much publicity as it was still just a working title up to this point.

However, now that it has been confirmed, I reckon that this new movie might be making quite the buzz all over the world. In addition, I am sure that fans are actually pleased that Legendary Pictures, who produced movies such as ‘Pacific Rim’ will be ones producing this movie as well. So we can expect some really astounding CGI from this new movie and hopefully they do it justice.

If that wasn’t enough, fans can also rejoice at the fact that Jordan Vogt-Roberts will be directing the entire film. Jordan is best known for his work on Kong: Skull Island and if that is any indication of what we should expect, I am certain that the Gundam movie will be rather promising.

As of now, there aren’t any news about the cast, storyline, plot, or even if the movie will be adapting any of the dozens of different anime arcs, series, and films that already exist in the franchise. That said, having a Gundam crossover could actually very interesting to see as many of the events in the Gundam franchise happen to take place in the same timeline.

Now based on the popularity of each individual Gundam series in each country, odds are, we might be getting a Gundam Wing live-action movie or a Gundam AGE live-action movie. That said, the safest bet to assume would be to expect for the ‘OG’ Gundam live-action movie.
