Netflix Has Purchased The Rights To Two ‘Knives Out’ Sequels For RM1.8 Billion

Fans of the 2019 whodunnit film Knives Out can soon look forward to not one, but two movie sequels after Netflix has landed the rights to produce Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3 and premiere it exclusively on its platform.

The critically acclaimed murder mystery was a worldwide box office hit that went on to gross $311.4 million (RM1.2 billion) on a $40 million (RM165 million) budget. The movie also earned director Rian Johnson an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

With such a successful track record, it’s no wonder Netflix is willing to spend $450 million (RM1.8 billion) just to secure the rights to the sequels.

Similar to the first film, part two and three of Knives Out will still see Johnson as the director while Daniel Craig is also said to reprise his role as private detective Benoit Blanc.

However, it’s unknown if the rest of the ensemble cast like Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ana de Armas, and Lakeith Stanfield will return in the movie sequels. Guess we’ll just have to patiently wait and see to find out!
