MySejahtera Now Allows Pregnant And Nursing Mums To Update Their Status For Suitable Vaccine

National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin previously announced that pregnant women who are planning to get vaccinated should only opt for the Pfizer vaccine, while nursing mothers have the option to choose between Pifizer or Astrazeneca.

This may have caused some pregnant and breastfeeding women to feel hesitant in registering for the vaccination via the MySejahtera app as there was no option to select the choice of vaccine.

But just this morning, the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) have announced that MySejahtera has been updated to allow pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to update their status in the app so they will be able to receive the suitable type of vaccine.

Users will be able to choose if they are pregnant or breastfeeding, which will then prompt them to fill in details such as their expected due dates. The option is also extended to those who don’t have access to the MySejahtera app as they can just call the hotline instead.

But once again, it’s important to remind all expectant and nursing mothers to always consult your doctor before getting vaccinated to find out what’s the best option for you!
