MySejahtera Gets Bluetooth Contact Tracing Feature And Removes Check-out Button Feature
Finally, the contact tracing app MySejahtera gets a new update, adding a crucial feature that helps notify users within close proximity when identifying close contacts of Covid-19 positive case. According to Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, the Bluetooth tracing feature called MySJ Trace will be rolled out for Android, iOS, and Huawei devices.
From the looks of it, MySejahtera app users will need to grant permission to allow the Bluetooth tracing feature to use you device's Bluetooth and to enable push notification. The MySJ Trace will then collect anonymised data of other users detected within the last 14 days. If you are Covid-19 positive, you can share your Bluetooth interaction data with the MOH to notify potential close contacts.
Khairy mentioned that this new tracing feature is highly encouraged for those going to public places in an indoor setting. On top of that, MySejahtera also removed the check-out button feature which many MySejahtera users often forget to use after leaving each premise.
Don't forget to grant permission for Bluetooth access to begin using the MySJ Trace feature! What do you think of this new feature?
