MOH Approves AstraZeneca & Sinovac Vaccines For Booster Shots In Malaysia

The Ministry of Health (MOH) just announced that the Drug Control Authority (DCA) under the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) has given conditional approval for AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines for booster shots. Previously, Pfizer BioNTech was given the conditional approval as booster shots for those who are fully vaccinated with Pfizer and Sinovac.

Individuals aged 18 and above who have received 2 shots of the same vaccine will be able to receive AZ and Sinovac as booster. Meanwhile, those who have been fully vaccinated with AZ Covid-19 vaccines can get a third AstraZeneca shot 6 months after the second dose. On the other hand, individuals who were fully vaccinated with Sinovac can get the booster shot 3 to 6 months after the second dose.

Following this announcement, fully vaccinated individuals will be receiving their booster shot appointment via MySejahtera automatically, so you won't need to sign up again. However, for those who plans to travel overseas for Umrah, work, or studies, may request to expedite their Covid-19 booster shot appointment via the MySejahtera app.
