Megan Thee Stallion Beats Label In Lawsuit To Release ‘Butter’ Remix With BTS Tomorrow
American rapper Megan Thee Stallion dropped some major news yesterday as she celebrated her lawsuit win against her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, allowing her to finally release a song with Korean boy group BTS.
In the lawsuit, Megan claimed that she was approached at the end of June about featuring on BTS’ hit single ‘Butter’, which she obviously agreed to, stating that she “had a strong desire to participate in the remix with BTS.” However, 1501 had allegedly blocked the release of the song as they did not believe the collaboration would be “good for her career.”
Left with no choice, Megan decided to take the matter to court, where her lawyers argued that blocking the release could be more detrimental to her career as her relationship with BTS could be “severely damaged.” In her lawsuit, Megan also claimed that her label has done nothing to assist her career, “other than try to hurt it and make money off" her.
Thankfully, the court ruled in favour of the rapper and granted her with a temporary restraining order to prevent 1501 from blocking the release of her song. This means that fans can officially look forward to BTS’ ‘Butter’ remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion that’s set to drop tomorrow (27 August)!
The announcement was officially confirmed on BTS’ Twitter and Megan herself also tweeted “Y’all don’t even understand how excited I am.” Are you guys excited about this upcoming release?
