MCO Announced To Be Extended Till 4 February
It was announced late evening on 21 January that the MCO for Penang, Selangor, Melaka, Kelantan, Johor, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan will be extended to 4 February due to a high record of cases for the past 2 weeks. Before that, cases actually hit the 4 thousands and this worried the government and Malaysian netizens.

The MCO 2.0 started 2 weeks earlier on 13 January in order to curb the Covid-19 cases and stop it from increasing any further. However, this proves that 2 weeks is too short of a time to maintain numbers below 3k.
