Malaysian Girl Gets Called “Papan” After Posting A TikTok Video

It’s 2021 guys, let’s stop body shaming and being keyboard warriors. Dayana (@babychitam), a user on Twitter posted screenshots of people body shaming her after she posted a TikTok video of herself on her account.

You need to watch the video, it is literally the most harmless content that shouldn’t prompt and nasty comments about her body! The TikTok video shows Dayana pointing at a tree and then transitioning to a “Saranghae” while she gives mini heart signs. I am absolutely outraged at how users can somehow find a way to criticise and bring someone down.

Welcome to Malaysia, body shaming is a must😍😍 — yana (@babychitam) April 5, 2021

The comment on the video stated “paypan”, which refers to “papan” in Bahasa Melayu. The user means to say Dayana is flat-chested – the audacity! Thankfully, there’s still hope in the world. Many users backed her up by calling out the rude person, saying they probably used their knee to think before commenting.

This pick me girl has been picking a fight w me since the first day i swear — yana (@babychitam) April 6, 2021

Sadly, another uncalled for commenter commented “kat lain besar, ni kecik”, referring to everywhere else is big, this is small, insinuating that Dayana had a small body. Next time you decide to judge and openly objectify someone else, please take a step back, turn off your phone, and throw it down a drain.

What do you guys think about this?
