Local Singer Siti Sarah Passes Away Due To Covid-19 Three Days After Giving Birth

Malaysian singer Siti Sarah Raissuddin had passed away yesterday morning at the age of 36 due to Covid-19. This tragic news comes after the late singer, who was seven months pregnant, gave birth to a baby boy via a C-section surgery last week.

The news was announced by Siti’s husband, Shahmira Muhamad aka Shuib Sepahtu, via his Instagram account. “5.13am, August 9 2021. My heavenly angel is gone forever. Please pray for her,” the actor wrote in Malay. Siti’s passing was also confirmed by her management company Indigital Music in a statement on Facebook.

According to Malay Mail, Siti and her family first tested positive for the virus on 27 July. She was then admitted to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia on 4 August after suffering from chronic cough and low oxygen levels.

The late singer had to be put under general anesthesia on 6 August so doctors could perform her caesarean delivery after her condition worsened. Along with her newborn son Ayash Affan, who is in stable condition, Siti leaves behind four children with husband Shuib Sepahtu.

All over social media, condolences have been pouring in from fellow singers and many of Siti’s fans. Our hearts go out to Siti’s family members, may her soul rest in peace.
