Local Lifestyle Brand Surveys Malaysian’s Breakfast Choices, And Designs Them Into T-shirts

It doesn’t matter if your favourite breakfast food is nasi lemak, roti canai or dim sum, Malaysian lifestyle brand Oxwhite would still have a t-shirt design to match.

The homegrown ecommerce brand is home to affordable lifestyle items such as activewear and comfy work-from-home clothes, and their latest range of t-shirt designs are modelled after the results from a recent survey.

The survey was conducted among 500 Malaysians to ask them what their all-time favourite local breakfast food was, and the results were pretty interesting.

For starters, Selangor seems to have the most nasi lemak lovers in Malaysia, followed by KL and Penang.

But things are slightly different in Melaka where majority of folks prefer to have roti canai (47%) for breakfast, followed by nasi lemak (33%) and dim sum (20%).

The study also found that for some reason, Malaysians’ love for nasi lemak seem to reduce as they grow with age, which probably has something to do with being more health-conscious.

As a result of this survey, Oxwhite has partnered with Salang Design to create a new collection titled ‘Makanlah’. The t-shirt series feature iconic Malaysian breakfast dishes such as nasi lemak, roti canai and dim sum, as well as the word “food coma”, which is used to describe the feeling of extreme fatigue after a big meal.

Oxwhite’s founder CK Chang predicts that the nasi lemak design would be the biggest hit among shoppers, followed by roti canai and dim sum.

The collection will be launched in conjunction with Oxwhite’s Lazada official store opening today (March 18) and will be exclusively available on the Southeast Asian e-commerce platform.
