Kelantan’s Istana Balai Besar To Be Converted Into Vaccination Centre
Some lucky Kelantan folks will be getting their vaccination appointments soon, but just don’t be too surprised when you find your vaccination location to be the Sultan’s residence. This is because the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V has granted his consent to convert the Istana Balai Besar into a vaccination centre.
Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Tengku Azmi Tengku Jaafar stated that this initiative was organised by the Sultan of Kelantan’s Office in collaboration with the Kelantan State Health Department (JKNK) for Phase Two of the National Rehabilitation Plan (PPN).
The Royal Palace will open its doors to Kelantan citizens for five days, starting 2 August. Around 2,000 individuals are expected to get vaccinated at the venue, with 1,000 of them being local citizens while the other half are staff members and relatives of the Kelantan Palace.
Tengku Azmi added that Sultan Muhammad V commends the people of Kelantan for being responsible enough to get vaccinated, while also expressing his appreciation to all the frontliners who have worked tirelessly to curb the spread of the virus.
