Introducing 2 New Local Airlines SKS Airways And MYAirline!
While we are used to our usual Malaysian Airlines, AirAsia, Malindo Air, and Firefly, the Malaysian civil aviation industry regulator has brought in 2 new airlines into the industry, MyAirline and SKS Airways, in hopes to recover the losses suffered by the aviation industry.
Both airlines that have been approved as an air service license (ASL) are MyAirline Sdn Bhd, a recently established ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC); and SKS Airways Sdn Bhd. The license holder of ASL will be allowed to conduct scheduled passenger and cargo services.
Currently, the 2 new airlines are under conditional approval by the Malaysian Aviation Commission. MyAirline will have a valid license for 12 months, from January 2022 to December 2022. As for SKS Airways, their license is valid for 36 months, from January 2022 to December 2024.
According to a couple of news outlets, MYAirline was established to build an airline business and challenge one of Malaysia's dominant low cost airlines, AirAsia.
Are you excited to travel with these 2 new airlines?
