Instagram Unveils New Feature To Remind Users To "Take A Break" From Scrolling

Have you ever went without scrolling Instagram for a day? If you haven't and can't, it's because Instagram was designed to be addictive. However, for some odd reason, the social media company added a new feature to remind you to stop scrolling for long periods and take a break.

Posted by Instagram head Adam Mosseri on Twitter, he unveiled the new feature that Instagram is currently testing out called "Take a Break." During the test stages, the company will be picking out users to take part in the test and will then allow you to opt for a prompt that reminds you if you're spending too much time on Instagram.

Users will be able to set different durations for the reminder to pop up, like 10, 20, or 30 minutes. According to the Twitter video, the prompt will also give users tops on what to do while taking a break from the app. Adam Mosseri also added that if the test works, Instagram will be rolling the new feature out to everyone within 1 or 2 months.

But honestly, if you feel like you're spending too much time on the app and can't get away from it, the most effective way to stop is to delete Instagram.
