Instagram To Work On Vertical Feed For Stories Similar To TikTok
If you’re an avid TikTok-er you would know what the “vertical feed” looks like, that’s the exact style Instagram is trying to go for their stories. The company believes that navigating up and down swipes would make stories behave more like Reels, which is the shortform video feature they added to compete with TikTok.
The new vertical story feature was confirmed by Instagram and is in the midst of being developed based on a screenshot by developer Alessandro Paluzzi. IGTV would still function a little different than stories and Reels, those videos will be buried in a vertical grid in Instagram profiles but feature horizontal navigation when you’re watching it.

This change will not only unify Instagram’s feeds, but also match the vertical experience to match Reels. What do you think about this big change Instagram will be bringing to their users?
