Instagram Is Working On A Feature That Allows You To Upload Directly From Your Laptop Or PC

For years, Instagram users have been bugging the social media platform to allow them to upload and publish directly from their laptop or PC, and guess what, Instagram listened! According to Alessandro Paluzzi (he always leaks new IG updates), the team behind Instagram is currently working on this feature as we speak!

ℹ️ This feature is currently being tested only internally. Don't expect to be able to use it anytime soon. But let's hope it doesn't take too long 🤞🏻 — Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) May 14, 2021

Paluzzi mentioned that the feature won’t be a part of the desktop app, but instead users will be able to upload posts directly from the web browser version of Instagram. The function looked pretty similar to how we usually upload using the mobile app version by clicking on the “+” icon, drag a media file to the dedicated area, edit (if you want to), and insert captions or tags.

The pros to uploading from your PC is definitely the editing software you get to use for your photo or video edits, most of us don’t even use the in-app editor on our mobile app version. As of now, Instagram seem to be testing the new feature internally, so no beta testers have access to it yet. We’re speculating that this may take a longer time as Instagram usually test their new updates or features on beta testers before fully rolling out the feature.

I personally think this is one of the best updates Instagram has given to their users, unlike the detestable algorithm. What do you think about this new feature they are working on?
