On the contrary to what people like these days which are short videos, Instagram may be planning to expand the length of Instagram Reels pretty soon. Following in the footsteps of its competitor, TikTok, which has recently increased its uploads to 3 minutes in 2021, Instagram will be expanding Instagram Reels to 90 seconds.
The social media app already expanded its Reels from 15 seconds to 60 seconds previously, but it will soon allow users to record a 90-second video directly though the app. On top of this, Instagram has also been working on a couple other features, including NFTs called ‘Collectibles’.
Meanwhile, Adam Mosseri confirmed that there will also be the addition of 3D avatar stickers to Instagram Stories and DMs. The Head of Instagram described the avatars as the “key building block for the future of personal identity in the metaverse”.
