Good News iOS Users, You Can Now Directly Share Tweets As Instagram Stories
We’ve all been there, having to screenshot a tweet and possibly crop it before you can finally upload it on Instagram Story. It can be such a hassle, but it’s one of those things you have to endure if you want to share a funny or informative tweet with your followers. But lucky for iOS users, those days are finally behind us.
Twitter’s iOS app has recently been updated to include a latest feature that will enable users to share tweets directly to their Instagram Story! The feature, known as iOS share sheet, is available via the share button under every tweet.
Skip the screenshots –– sharing Tweets to Instagram Stories right from the share menu is now rolling out to everyone on iOS! Tap the share icon on a Tweet and select “Instagram Stories”. Once your Instagram app opens, you can resize/reposition the Tweet sticker before posting. https://t.co/R1qayqMwYl pic.twitter.com/yp82IH5Tuk — Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) June 22, 2021
Simply click the share icon, and select “Instagram Stories” from the list of available apps which you can now share on. Once you are taken to Instagram, users can easily resize the tweet, reposition it, and similar to usual Instagram Stories, you can also add stickers, music, and texts to accompany your shared tweet.
Although the feature isn’t perfect (you can’t click the shared tweet to view it on Twitter, and embedded videos in tweets aren’t playable either), this is certainly much easier than screenshotting tweets, resizing them, and manually uploading them on Instagram.
Hopefully Twitter can find a way to improve this feature and incorporate it for Android users too, though we’re not too sure when exactly that’s going to happen, but one can certainly hope!
