Global Campaign Against Covid-19 Will Feature SuperM As The Only K-Pop Act
New York-based global charity organisation, Global Citizen has announced a campaign titled “A Recovery Plan For The World” to help end Covid-19. The campaign will feature a global Broadcast Special in May as well as a multi-hour Global Citizen LIVE event in September that will feature performances from artists all over the world.
Since the announcement of this campaign, many celebrities have shown their support for the cause and even participated in it. Among some the big names who have participated in this campaign are Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish and the only K-Pop act in the lineup – South Korean supergroup, SuperM.
This marks the second time the SM Entertainment boyband will participate in a global charity cause. SuperM have previously participated in a charity concert titled “One World: Together At Home” that was hosted by Global Citizen, along with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Lady Gaga last April to raise money to support the frontline healthcare workers.
The supergroup that consists of members Taemin from SHINee, Baekhyun and Kai from EXO, Taeyong and Mark from NCT 127, and Ten and Lucas from WayV were also involved in WHO’s “Big Event For Mental Health” in October last year to promote about mental health awareness on World Mental Health Day.
