Fully Vaccinated Individuals Can Participate In Physical Contact Sports Starting 17 Sept
On top of allowing indoor and outdoor sports activities, and just announcing gyms to be reopened soon, PM Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob added on that physical sports and recreational activities are now allowed in states under Phase 2 and 3 starting today (17 September).
But of course the requirement is that, you'll need to be fully vaccinated before you can participate in these activities. He also added that these activities must be done at facilities where 'full supervision' can be done.
Physical sports and recreational activities that are allowed at full capacity includes football, volleyball, and takraw. Meanwhile, activities that are allowed to only open at 50% capacity or not exceeding 50 people includes aerobics and Zumba. “Individual fitness activities such as aerobics, Zumba can be performed in groups in the same area and premises, but limited to 50% capacity or not exceeding 50 people, whichever is lower, for fully vaccinated individuals, under the supervision of a coach,” Ismail Sabri said.
According to NST, PM Ismail Sabri also mentioned that “the resumption of these activities and the reopening of these facilities are on an appointment basis, and for premises which have been sanitised and will be done under strict monitoring of the operator of the premises”.
