Family Sets Up GoFundMe To Pay For RM10,000 Worth Of Spongebob Popsicles Mistakenly Ordered By Son
A family in New York has recently found themselves in a serious predicament after discovering their son had ordered US$2,618.85 (RM10,780.50) worth of Spongebob popsicles by mistake!
Four-year-old Noah Bryant was using his mother, Jennifer’s Amazon account when he accidentally bought a total of 918 popsicles in 51 cases and had them delivered to his aunt’s house.
As Amazon refused to take back the popsicles, Jennifer found herself helpless as she is already struggling to support her family with three sons, on top of trying to pay off her student loans. Seeing this, Jennifer’s friend, Katie Schloss decided to set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for her friend to pay off the outrageous bill.
In just four days, the fundraiser had received overwhelming support and the family even managed to collect US$10,315 (RM42,461.70) from 391 donors, an amount that’s four times more than their original goal!
As Noah is a child living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, the family had decided that they will allocate the additional donations towards Noah’s education and additional supports.
