Fake News: 1 Utama Denies Rumours Of Delta Covid-19 Variant On Premises
You might’ve come across some viral messages on social media urging people to avoid going to 1 Utama as there have been over 50 positive cases of the highly contagious strain of Delta Covid-19 variant detected at the mall. Well fortunately, that has been dispelled as fake news.
The popular shopping centre in Petaling Jaya, Selangor recently took to Facebook to clear the air and address these rumours, strictly dismissing them as false news. “We wish to state that this is FAKE NEWS and that there is NO DELTA variant case reported at 1 Utama to date verified officially by KKM and Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah,” the mall stated.
The viral messages even wrote that a family of four had three deaths in two days after they visited the mall. Not only is this a horrible thing to say about others, it also incites so much fear in the public and brings a bad rep for the mall.
As such, 1 Utama has urged the public not to spread unverified messages and create unnecessary panic during these challenging times. The mall also emphasised that they remain fully compliant with all safety SOPs to protect the wellbeing of their employees, tenants, and patrons.
