Fake Covid-19 Digital Vaccination Certs Are Being Sold On Social Media From RM15 To RM200

According to NST, there are irresponsible people on social media who are selling fake Covid-19 digital vaccination certificates from RM15 to RM200. Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Head of Department and Senior Consultant O&G, Datuk Dr Mohd Rushdan Mohd Noor busted the alleged scheme through a Facebook post, he noted that the fake digital certificates were being sold at RM15 each.

Meanwhile, netizens are requesting authorities to take action after Twitter user @pedoqpop tweeted a screenshot of a message he received from an anonymous seller, offering a fake digital certificate for RM200. What’s worse about this fake certificate, it offers to change buyers’ vaccination status in MySejahtera as well.

“Following a police report, we have opened up investigation papers, whereby those found guilty can be fined not more than RM100,000 or maximum seven years’ imprisonment or both upon conviction,” state police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said. Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali mentioned that the Health Ministry will take action against anyone trying to forge the digital certificate in the MySejahtera app.
