Eateries Will Be Able To Operate 6am To 10pm From Today Onwards

Good news! You won’t need to rush out to get groceries or early dinner right after work and classes anymore! The government just announced yesterday (27/6) that eateries and restaurants under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) will be able to open from 6am to 10pm from today onwards (28/6).

However, you’ll still need to wait for Phase 3 for dine-in at eateries. According to Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob: “Previously, operating hours involving food premises and restaurants were only allowed from 8am to 8pm. After taking into consideration the appeals and views from stakeholders, today’s meeting has agreed to revise the operating hours from 6am to 10pm effective June 28.”

That said, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin mentioned that FMCO will be extended as the Covid-19 cases have not met the threshold set yet. He added that Malaysia will not be able to exit Phase 1 to Phase 2 until daily new cases are below 4,000, “moderate” demand on intensive care capacity, and 10% vaccination in the country have been met.
