Chili’s Flagship Store in Bangsar Bids Farewell to Malaysians

Cues ‘See You Again‘. I can still recall some of the moments I had in that outlet. As a matter of fact, that outlet was where I tried Chili’s for the first time!

I personally made many great memories there with my family and friends and I am sure you did too. Being the broke collage students we are, at times, me and my friends would sit in Chili’s Bangsar for hours and hours ordering nothing but bottomless nachos.

There were also some bitter moments there, where I was stood up for a date but the employees at that outlet felt bad for me and decided to chip in for a dessert to cheer me up.

But after 27 years, unfortunately we will have to say our goodbyes to this iconic outlet permanently and no this probably isn’t some marketing gimmick to draw more people to the outlet. A statement from Chili’s read, “It’s been an awesome 27 years for Chili’s at Bangsar Shopping Centre. We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our guests in Chili’s Bangsar Shopping Centre for your support over the years.

We’re sadly saying goodbye to our very first flagship store. Drop by for one last time before 31st March to say goodbye as we will be permanently closing Chili’s Bangsar Shopping Centre outlet soon.”

Chili’s Bangsar first opened its doors way back in June 1994 (I wasn’t even born yet lol) and unfortunately we will only have slightly over 2 weeks to say our goodbyes to the outlet.

There wasn’t any specific reasons for the abrupt closing, but given the current state of things with the F&B industry and the COVID-19 pandemic, it is likely that Chili’s Malaysia did not have any choices left.

Thankfully we can still enjoy our favorite Tex-Mex fares at their outlets at Mid Valley Megamall, 1 Utama, Empire Shopping Gallery and Suria KLCC.
