BTS Teams Up With Louis Vuitton To Model Menswear Collection In Digital Fashion Film
K-pop boyband BTS is no stranger to the international music scene, having broken records and topping charts with hit after hit. And now, the music group has officially made their mark in the fashion world after they were featured in Louis Vuitton’s special spin-off fashion film for the brand’s Autumn/Winter collection show in Seoul on Thursday (7 July).
The French luxury fashion house made headlines back in April when they named BTS as its house ambassadors, but the real excitement only came earlier this week when both parties took to social media to announce the band’s special appearance at the Louis Vuitton show in Seoul.
High expectations. #LouisVuitton ambassadors @bts_bighit invite you to see @VirgilAbloh’s #LVMenFW21 collection from Seoul. Watch the show live at 7 pm (GMT +9) on Wednesday, July 7th on Twitter or https://t.co/2i3c2rq839 https://t.co/85K20uEd95 — Louis Vuitton (@LouisVuitton) July 5, 2021
Naturally, the announcement sent ARMYs into a frenzy, with many fans anticipating BTS to make their runway debut at an international fashion show. So we’re not sure if the actual fashion show was a let down for fans considering the band didn’t exactly strut down the catwalk in the show.
That said, ARMYs still got to enjoy seeing their idols donning various fashion looks designed by Virgil Abloh, the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection. All seven members of BTS – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were dressed in different outfits as they walked around a skyscraper that was set in an industrial building.
The 10-minute long digital fashion video, which was streamed live on Louis Vuitton’s Twitter and YouTube page, was directed by Jeon Go-woon and included an original score written and produced by Korean musicians Cifika, Kate Kim, and Net Gala.
