Brad Pitt Awarded Joint Custody Of 5 Children With Angelina Jolie

Former power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been tangled in a long legal battle over the custody of their kids since their separation in 2016. While Jolie previously claimed to have proof of Pitt of being violent towards their son, that apparently did not stop the court from awarding Pitt with a joint custody of his children with Jolie.

According to sources, a private judge hired by the couple made the tentative ruling on 13 May, which would grant Pitt a joint legal and physical custody of his five children with Jolie.

This ruling will apply to five of the couple’s underaged kids, namely Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and 12-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox. The couple’s 19-year-old eldest son Maddox will not be affected by the court’s rulling.

While Pitt’s lawyers consider Judge John Ouderkirk’s tentative ruling to be “thorough” and “fair”, Jolie felt that the judge “denied” her a “fair trial” and improperly excluded evidence that were “relevant to the children’s health, safety and welfare”.

In her court paperwork filed with California’s Second District Court of Appeal, Jolie also requested for the court to “stay the private judge’s finalisation of any custody order” as she pursues a different outcome.

However, Pitt’s lawyer Theodore J. Boutrous, Jr, wrote that any further delays “would only work grave harm upon the children, who will be further denied permanence and stability.”

What do you think about the court’s ruling?
