Brace Yourselves… A New ‘GOT’ Series Might Be Coming

George R R Martin sends his regards, after signing a five-year deal with HBO, thus leaving fans of the pop-culture hit series ‘Game of Thrones’ squealing in excitement as they might be getting much more adventures set in the fantasy world of Westeros.

The 72-year-old fantasy writer is already working on a prequel series ‘House of the Dragon’ which said to be set 300 years prior to the events that transpired in ‘Game of Thrones’. Although there is no current date as to when the release will be, the new series is expected to air next year.

Following the success of ‘Game of Thrones’, which won a record-breaking 59 Emmys, parent company WarnerMedia has struck a deal with HBO and HBO Max to develop content for their streaming service.

Such content that is expected to air on HBO’s streaming services following the multi-million dollar deal includes; ‘10,000 Ships’ which tells the tale of queen Nymeria who was founder of one of the Seven Kingdoms; ‘9 Voyages’ which is a gritty underworld tale set in Westeros capital King’s Landing called ‘Flea Bottom’; and ‘Dunk and Egg’ which is an animated series that follows the story of a knight and his squire around the land of Westeros.

Well, whichever of these new productions come first, always remember the golden rule when watching a series directed by, or based off on George R R Martin’s books, which is to never get too attached to any one character. I made the same mistake when watching ‘Game of Thrones’.
