Be Aware, Viral Open-To-All Astrazeneca Vaccine Application Is Fake According To JKJAV

Fake news and scams are still being shared around social media and messaging apps, but it’s our duty to be more vigilant and stop re-sharing these fake news or links to make sure nobody else is misdirected into a scam. According to the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV), a message on social media has gone viral, stating that the Astrazeneca vaccine applications are open to all in Malaysia.

JKJAV mentioned that people have been sharing the link thinking that the Astrazeneca application is up again but it was just for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme. The commitee advises netizens to be more cautious of viral messages, and to only get verified information through the committee’s official social media accounts like their Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter @JKJAVMY. The Astrazeneca vaccination process began on 5 May while the voluntary registration for the vaccine said was up on 2 May.

If you’ve missed out on the registration for the Astrazeneca vaccines, Minister Khairy Jamaluddin mentioned that there will be more opt-in registrations for the vaccine that will be opened for residents in the Klang Valley and other states. The announcement will be made next week, so be sure to keep yourself updated!
