Bank Account In "Squid Game" Is Real And People Have Been Transferring Money To It
After netizens found out that the phone number in the latest hit Netflix series, "Squid Game" is real, people are starting to look around for more faults within the show. The phone number that was revealed in Squid Game received more than 4,000 phone calls, it was even reported that Netflix may be fined up to 50 million won (RM178,000) for this incident.
While the director of the Netflix series, Hwang Dong Hyuk recently apologised for revealing an actual phone number, netizens found out that the bank account revealed in the series was also real! The account number was shown in the last episode of the series when main character Seong Gi Hun tried to withdraw ₩10,000 KRW from an ATM machine.
It was then revealed by the director that the bank account actually belongs to one of the producers of the show. “We made an agreement with the directing team and used it,” Hwang said.
“Recently, I heard that the producer has been receiving deposits in the amount of 456 KRW (0.38 USD) from people who watched the show,” Hwang added. Sadly because of this incident, the team decided to close the account in case there are other issues in the future.
