AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine Second Dose Interval Reduced From 12 Weeks To 9 Weeks

Not sure if you’ve seen Khairy Jamaluddin’s tweet last night, announcing that JKJAV has decided to shorten the interval of the second dose for the AstraZeneca vaccine from 12 weeks to 9 weeks. People have also been reporting that they have received their second appointment on the MySejahtera app right after the announcement.

Apparently, this move was made based on the recommendation from the Technical Working Group (TWG). “Based on the recommendation from our Technical Working Group and with greater clarity of the delivery schedule, the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) has decided to shorten the dosing interval for AZ from 12 to nine weeks. Those who participated in the first round of AZ will be notified of their 2nd appointment soon,” he tweeted.

However, we believe that this doesn’t only apply to those who participated in the first round of AZ vaccination. Many participants that just gotten their first dose also reported that they have received appointments for their second dose already. So please check your MySejahtera app and make sure to let your family and friends know of this too!
