American Researchers Creating Colour-Changing Test Strip On Masks To Detect Covid-19
A team of researchers from the University of California San Diego are in the midst of testing colour-changing test strips that can be implanted on face masks and detect Covid-19 by the breath or saliva of the user. If the virus is detected, the colour on the strip will change. The project aims to provide easy, affordable, and reliable monitoring of the coronavirus that can be carried out daily and easily applied in resource-poor settings. We stan for that!
The test strips or stickers will be able to stick onto any masks whether its surgical or cloth. Just like a home pregnancy test, the test strip will have a control line to indicate what a positive result should represent.
A new tool for monitoring #COVID19 may one day be right under your nose: color-changing test strips that can be stuck on masks and used to detect SARS-CoV-2 in a person’s breath or saliva.
