All Expired Licences And Road Taxes Must Be Renewed By 30 September, Says JPJ

I know many of us haven’t been driving a lot this years, thanks to the endless state of lockdown we’re in. But still, here’s a very important reminder that if you have not renewed your licence and road tax, please remember to do it by 30 September.

In a statement that was posted on Facebook, the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ Malaysia) reminded all road users to renew their licences by the end of September. These licences include the Competent Driving Licences (CDL), Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM or road tax), Goods Driving Licence (GDL), and the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licence.

“Vehicle owners whose road taxes have expired have to ensure they have valid insurance coverage and can produce their e-cover note upon request by authorities when on the road,” read the statement.

The licence renewal process can be done via the MySikap JPJ or MyEG portals. For other matters that cannot be done online, individuals are encouraged to make an appointment before they head to any JPJ counters.

Make sure to hurry up and renew your licences and road taxes because JPJ Malaysia also added that starting 1 October, JPJ officials and police officers will conduct checks on compliance and enforcement.
